YOU CAN’T CLAIM TO SUPPORT FIREFIGHTERS WHILE ATTACKING THEIR CONDITIONS.
Minister Edbrooke says that he “supports firefighters with everything they need”, but firefighters know this isn’t true.
Paul Edbrooke is trying to remove the conditions of work that keep firefighters safe and keep the public safe:
– Minimum staffing guarantees the community gets the best response times from fully qualified crews
– Classification structures ensure all emergencies have appropriately trained personnel managing the dangers
– Delegates rights ensure firefighters can speak up publicly about the truck crisis without fear of retribution
– Consultation ensures firefighters have a say in the equipment and uniform that protects them in a fire
If Minister Edbrooke has any integrity, if he wants to support firefighters, the path forward is simple:
– Fund the trucks
– Stop the attacks on conditions
– Respect those who protect Victoria
