International Women’s Day – March 8 2025

International Women’s Day is an annual event that celebrates all the amazing things women have achieved. It is a way to show how women have and continue to influence the world. As well as celebrating brilliant women, it’s also used as a day to highlight and raise awareness about issues that women have faced in the past and still face today.

The United Firefighters Union continues to actively promote and pursue a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace to support the attraction and retention of women firefighters.

The UFU Victorian Branch recognises the significant contribution Women play across the Fire Service, within our Union and across the broader Labour Movement.

We thank them for their contribution to the Fire Service and our Union and look forward to working with them in achieving equality across the workplace society at large.

The UFU acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past and present.

The UFU supports the call of First Nations peoples for a Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the Constitution.
