Turnbull and Cash must stop dividing firefighters
The United Firefighters Union in Victoria today calls on Prime Minister Turnbull and Minister for Employment Michaelia Cash to stop inciting division between career and volunteer firefighters.
“If the federal government wants to do something useful it would step in and support the thousands of firefighters and volunteers exposed to dangerous chemicals through CFA mismanagement,” said Peter Marshall, UFU secretary.
VFBV should focus on protecting firefighters not playing politics
The Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria’s (VFBV) latest court action relating to the enterprise agreement once again demonstrates that they are more interested in playing politics than in protecting firefighters and protecting Victorians.
Instead of focusing on what really matters the VFBV has chosen to continue wasting taxpayer dollars waging a political war against the Andrews Government on behalf of the Liberal Party.
UNITED FIREFIGHTERS LAUNCH ‘JUSTICE FOR FISKVILLE’
Firefighters from the CFA and MFB will meet on the steps of Parliament today to launch the ‘Justice for Fiskville’ campaign. The campaign will advocate for firefighters exposed to toxic contamination at the Fiskville CFA training facility, west of Melbourne.
Justice for Fiskville has been established in response to community concern that victims of Fiskville are not being properly identified and tested. The campaign asks the Andrews Government to take carriage of blood testing and calls on those responsible to be held accountable.
