December 8th – A Day of Significant Incidents!

The UFU acknowledges and thanks all members on shift yesterday, a day that saw significant incidents across the state.

As always, our members put the safety of the community front and foremost when attending incidents that threaten their wellbeing and safety.

In particular, we say thanks to members who were injured at the factory blaze in Dandenong. We wish them a speedy recovery.

Crews worked through the night and the incident was under control this morning.

We also acknowledge the workers in that factory who confronted a significant event.

The UFU understands one person is unaccounted for and our thoughts go out to their family.

For FRV personnel there is a dedicated counselling service with psychologists by calling 1800 161 415 .

All FRV Employee Support Services are free and confidential and can be accessed by you and your families, this Support available on a 24/7 basis.

The UFU acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past and present.

The UFU supports the call of First Nations peoples for a Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the Constitution.
