Victoria is heading into another high-risk bushfire season — and firefighters need the right trucks to protect communities.
The 2026 Bushfires Inquiry made 80 recommendations, including calls for:
• An annual, rolling FRV fleet replacement program • Immediate funding to replace the most degraded fire trucks
The Government only made a four-year funding commitment and it doesn’t even slow down the ageing of FRV’s fleet, let alone fix the growing number of trucks past their service life.
Firefighters shouldn’t have to wait for another fire truck to fail before action is taken.
