Serious questions must be asked of Fire Rescue Victoria leadership after a firefighter suffered life-threatening injuries at last month’s Viva Refinery incident.
It is an indictment on FRV Commissioner Gavin Freemans leadership and despite firefighters repeated warnings about unsafe vehicles, unsafe work practices, unsafe radios and unsafe personal protective equipment that all went ignored or dismissed, yet now we have a firefighter seriously injured potentially with life changing injuries.
The Fire Rescue Commissioner Gavin Freeman and Minister Vicki Ward should resign, they have single handedly refused to support firefighters instead supporting cuts and failure to resource firefighters to protect the community and themselves.
