Metro and outer metro Melbourne are severely under capacity, with ageing fire trucks breaking down at alarming rates.

FRV’s own standard says 29 broken down trucks is a “critical” situation. FRV started this week with 36 fire trucks broken down. With two more failing today it now sits at 38.

* Fire Station 01 Eastern Hill (CBD) lost a frontline pumper 🚒

* Fire Station 22 Ringwood lost its Teleboom — vital for high-rise rescues and firefighting with its 16m high ladder 🚒🪜

At the same time, Victorians are paying double the Emergency Services Tax, while the Allan Government has cut $114 million from FRV this year alone — enough to replace over 100 fire trucks.

This puts lives at risk.

It is unacceptable.

The Allan Government slashes. Victoria burns.
