Metro and outer metro Melbourne are severely under capacity, with ageing fire trucks breaking down at alarming rates.
FRV’s own standard says 29 broken down trucks is a “critical” situation. FRV started this week with 36 fire trucks broken down. With two more failing today it now sits at 38.

At the same time, Victorians are paying double the Emergency Services Tax, while the Allan Government has cut $114 million from FRV this year alone — enough to replace over 100 fire trucks.
This puts lives at risk.
It is unacceptable.
