Ballarat’s professional firefighters were down at ballarat train station for the opening of the new walkway and to talk to the community about the state of our fire services. There were some great interactions and the community was very receptive to the information firefighters were talking about.

– $2.14 billion raised by the new emergency services and volunteers tax, but front line services aren’t receiving this.

– $114.9 million cut from FRVs budget, $42 million cut from CFA

– 65% or 162 of FRVs fire trucks are past their life span.

– The Allan government has spent over $10 million on lawyers trying to strip firefighters of their workplace conditions.

These issues affect all Victorians and are very real. Even though one of Juliana Addison MP assistants referred to fire fighters handing out information as “fake news”, it will not stop firefighters from voicing their concerns and letting the community know about what this government is doing.
