Teleboom 7 has been pulled from Thomastown to replace a broken-down Teleboom 10 in Richmond — leaving just ONE operational teleboom across all of Metro and Outer Metro Melbourne.
These trucks are critical for rescuing people and fighting fires at height.
There is also no spare fire trucks anywhere in Fire Rescue Victoria. The Thomastown teleboom crew now has no fire truck at all — four firefighters sitting in a station, unable to respond if your family needs help.
This is the Allan Government’s legacy. 65% of FRV fire trucks are out of date, firefighters are stretched to breaking point, and Victorians are being left at real risk of tragedy and loss of life.
The government hasn’t forgotten fire services — it just remembers them when it’s time to tax Victorians twice as much, while delivering a fire service that’s failing when it matters most.
