New Truck arrives in Shepparton

Following a campaign by local Firefighters and the Community raising concerns that a new Fire Truck originally planned for Shepparton was being redirected to Melbourne, we can report that a New Truck has arrived in Shepparton.

In November UFU State Secretary, Peter Marshall, sent correspondence to Fire Rescue Victoria confirming that the UFU agrees that the Pumper Platform designated for FS 75, Shepparton, and the risk assessment surrounding such decision should stand.

This is a great result for local Firefighters and the Community.

Following strong campaigns in Mildura and Shepparton this year, our members in those areas have been successful in having their concerns met, delivering up to date and fit for purpose Appliances that will provide safer conditions for Firefighters and the local communities

The UFU acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past and present.

The UFU supports the call of First Nations peoples for a Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the Constitution.
