FRV WASTES $33.9 MILLION ON CONSULTANTS & LAWYERS

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) has blown $33,966,728.68 on legal and consulting fees in just 9 months—money that could have funded 30 critically needed new fire appliances to protect firefighters and the community.

🔥 Breakdown of consultant & legal costs:

📆Jul–Sep 2023: $386,593.19

📆 Oct–Dec 2023: $916,888.85

📆 Jan–Mar 2024: $763,246.64

💰 Consulting fees (2023–24 financial year): $31.9 million

Despite this shocking waste of taxpayer funds, FRV tried to conceal its legal expenditure from its annual report.

This is yet another reason why firefighters have lost all confidence in Commissioner Gavin Freeman’s leadership.

The UFU acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past and present.

The UFU supports the call of First Nations peoples for a Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the Constitution.
