FRV leading firefighter and UFU member Ruby Holten delivered a huge performance, storming home to win the prestigious 120m Ballarat Gift in a thrilling, photo-finish sprint — crossing the line just 0.003 of a second ahead of her rival.
A decade of hard work, setbacks and persistence paid off in one of the most competitive races on the pro-running calendar.
There was no time to soak it all in. Just hours after claiming the Ballarat Gift trophy and sash, Ruby packed up and headed straight to night shift at South Melbourne Fire Station.
Ruby said she’s “feeling lucky to have such an amazing support team both at the running track and at the fire station”
From the track to the truck, Ruby is a champion athlete, dedicated firefighter and proud UFU member.
