This morning, Fire Truck Pumper 14 – Bundoora broke down while responding to a blaze that destroyed two homes. A faulty pump left firefighters with reduced capacity, forcing them to fight the fire with minimal pressure until another truck arrived 4 minutes later—too late to save the homes.
This truck, 15 years old, should have been replaced, but Fire Rescue Victoria and the Allan Government have ignored warnings for months. The lack of planning and funding has left us relying on outdated, unsafe equipment, putting lives at risk.
The fire crisis is real—and it’s getting worse. Urgent action is needed by Minister Jacklyn Symes who has done nothing for way too long, before more homes are lost.
