On the 1st of February 1991 400 Professional Firefighters with almost 100 MFB appliances marched to the headquarters of the Industrial Relations Commission. Of the 46 MFB stations 23 were closed such was the disgust by firefighters at the treatment by the government of the day and the MFB Board. It’s surreal that 33 years later the same treatment is being dished out by the Government and ELT.
The UFU acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past and present.
The UFU supports the call of First Nations peoples for a Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the Constitution.
