Another Pumper Out of Action

Broadmeadows has been left under prepared for the coming Fire season with Station 5’s Pumper Tanker being out of action.

Usually Fire Station 5, Broadmeadows, will have a Pumper Tanker, but the replacement is only a Pumper.

A Pumper operates with 60% less water capacity compared to a Pumper Tanker.

Unlike a Pumper Tanker which is built to drive off road into grasslands to fight fires, a Pumper cannot do that.

Further, a Pumper Tanker has extra safety features to keep our firefighter’s safe during a bushfire. A Pumper does not.

Alarmingly, the replacement is riddled with faults and broken equipment.

The Broadmeadows community needs better than this. Will the local member be holding a hose this summer?
