For years, firefighters at Fire Station 68 Lucas in Ballarat have called for action on an overgrown, fire-prone block of land next door. Every summer, it becomes a serious fire risk.
Who owns this land?
The State Government of Victoria – land earmarked for an Ambulance Victoria branch that never eventuated. Instead, it sits overgrown and forgotten.
Repeated calls for action have been ignored, and even the local council is powerless to intervene. On total fire ban days, while CFA and FRV urge residents to maintain their properties, the Allan Government seems to think they’re above the rules – putting lives at risk.
This is yet another example of how the Allan Government burns Victorians. It’s time to take responsibility before it’s too late.
